ALFRED PARSONS ORIGINAL OIL - 1905

This painting had been stored in the back of a closet for decades. It was left here by the previous owners of my home in 1970. I contacted the daughter of the old homeowners (her Mother had passed away and her elderly Father was now living with her) and she said she "Forgot to throw out the "junk" left in the closet". I decided to hang on to it.

It was not until Maria saw this painting and realized the quality of the work did I discover it was an Alfred Parsons oil painting dated 1905. The name of this piece is unknown. Maria has determined the oil is in very good condition but repairs must be made to the canvas, especially around the edges of the frame.

These images show the overall condition of the painting. Some small areas of damage are visible. More detailed images, including images of the edge around the frame, will be added when restoration begins. The artist's signature, Parsons, and the year, 1905, are on the stretcher. Interestingly the year 1904 is marked in pencil on the canvas along with the number 138.
